Your ESXi Hypervisor Just Opened Its Root Door

Remember that warm, fuzzy feeling of security you got from virtualizing everything? The idea that your critical applications were neatly tucked away in their own isolated boxes, safe from the chaos of the underlying hardware? Yeah, well, I’ve got some news for you. VMware, the titan of virtualization, recently dropped a bombshell: a couple of nasty vulnerabilities in ESXi that could let an attacker with a bit of access totally own your hypervisor. And if they own the hypervisor, they own everything running on it. Think about that for a second.
